heck you dont even need to carry a full spare chain. A couple master links along with a multitool that does chain splitting and your golden. You should have the tool anway and a couple links ways nothin. You probably still want to replace the chain at the first opertunity but you can limp home.

You are so right Johnny! I just found out the hard way by buying 2 Jasion e-bikes. Total crap! One motor failed. They don’t answer the phone, they don’t respond to emails, they have no spare parts, etc. My 5 week old Jasion X-Hunter is now a 1000 $ paperweight. I just posted a video on UA-cam to warn people. Also, Al the people who get these bike for free and tell everyone how fabulous they are, are guilty as well. They only test the bike when it’s brand new. The don’t tell you there is zero service. Keep up your work. I am sure you will be fine. We need to tell the people the truth!

Hi Johnny. I got the isinwheel M10 Commuter Ebike only 10 days ago. My battery is fully charged, the problem is when I turn the throttle, the motor just lurches for 1-2 seconds then stops. If I get off the bike and lift the back wheel, it works fine, but when I sit on it, the motor stops after a second. I'm only 130lbs and the specs say up to 330lbs, so its not my weight. any suggestions?

This guy failed to address few important issues: I have a hub drive and have no idea what he's talking about...there are no spokes, as it is one cast alluminum rim unit...so that destroys the "spokes getting lose argument"...most hub drives that I see in my area are single unit inside a cast alluminum rim units. Second...what demographic is he talking to? If you have a serious e-biker that wants to climb hills and extra performance, yes by all means the mid drive is for you. But if you just want to get to work and back, get the hub motor as you basically have 2 redundant systems... I don't feel like changing a chain on a sidewalk for example...I just want to get to work on time and deal with the chain later..a hub drive gives me that option. And finally, you ALSO have the option of using the pedals and changing gears on the hub drive, should you desire a BETTER performance. But again, it os OPTIONAL....and who doesn't like options??

I can't thank you enough. Because of you I took my good Giant mountain bike, slapped a bafang and a battery and I have an awesome E-Bike. I just cant believe the prices of E-bikes. It is ridiculous, borderline a scam.

I don't know about Atlanta, but here in Connecticut bikes have to be UL approved to qualify for a rebate.

I built 2 DIY bafang bikes 2 years ago using info from this channel. I cannot recommend enough if you can, building your own. I can repair anything wrong with my ebikes. I have friends who bought ebikes and now can't get service or parts easy because of the flood of different ebike makers. And if you run into problems or have questions you can schedule a talk with johnnynerdout and get answers to your questions/problems.

I've converted the exact same bike a week ago. BBS02b, 1mm spacer between the motor/bottom bracket, Lekkie 36T on front (no offset), 48V 17.5Ah, 500C display, shift sensor, no brake sensors. Can't use the last 50T cog but that doesn't really matter. I'm climbing some serious and very demanding rocky trails here in polish mountains. With 2.8 tubeless tyres this bike is absolutely fantastic. I don't care it's a hard tail. Just love it.

-if you wanna have workout or just leisure weekend rides get a pedal bike. road/mtb or just a cruiser. one exceptiin if you're into DH/enduro mtb, like going down but not going up, maybe get an enduro emtb and save yourself the lift and double or triple the elevation you can do on a ride. -now if you wanna incorporate biking in your commute/transportation, ebike will considerably extend your radius them you should ask yourself the right questions how fast fo you feel comfortable riding on the road/trails, are you comfortable riding an ebike thats illegal on the road or on the trails? are you comfortable with the legal consequences? do you still want to exercise, knowing casually pedalling on a high power bike wont do much for your speed or range. are you ready to gear up with at least a downhill rated full face helmets, and gloves then biy a quality ebike with the spwcs that you need, not the fastest/longest range for the money. dont cut on quality put the 1-2k additional bucks to have low maintenance belt.

"high power" ebikes are not legally ebikes its why most brands stick to class 2/3 750W. as long as there's no legal class 4 proper boke companies will be hesitant to deal with legal implication. more powerful ebikes are kind of a niche market class 3 ebike dont need ginormous batteries either for most people because they just dont ride them the kind of distances that require these capacities also quality bikes are expensive because of the costs of components, wethwr they are pedal bikes or ebikes. class 4 ebike with big batteries that go as fast as moped and weigh as much should have the same moped rated brakes, wheels suspensions, and restrict power and speed to the state's requirements. electric motors can have an advantage thanks to the continous/peak power. for instance in maryland moped is 30mph amd 1.5hp(1100W) so your peak power could be somewhere 2000-2500W for good acceleration / climbing short steep climbs. let people derestrict them like 2 strokes were oftem deresteicted after purchase within reasonable limits like 35-40mph if the components are made to handle that speeds. if you cracke dthe code to make affordable quality high power ebikes with high power batteries then create a proper company and sell them in large volume. I look at your website and what I see is $2000 single speed rigid mtb 750W mid drive based on a cheap cable disc brakes $379 bikesdirect.com bike amd a big battery sticking out of the skinny frame in a bag a fat tire $3500 emoped advertised 2000W but still offered with cable disc brakes and no fromt or rear suspension you are offering quality mid drive motors but not a complete package

I always ask people, if you took the motor and battery off that bike ($800) would the remaining bike be something for which you would pay the difference?

Maybe bikes with hub motors should use comstar-style wheels to prevent spoke problems. At least in theory, comstar wheels on motorcycles have more springiness than solid wheels, but are stronger and require less maintenance than spoked wheels.
